Words to live by

Lately I have been realizing that there are a lot of things in my life I’d like to change in some way or another – get rid of, get better at, spend more time doing. It seems that this winter in particular is a time for reflecting and taking in the big picture while looking for places to make it better. The reason I am doing just words and phrases is because these are mostly abstract, immeasurable ideas – exactly the opposite of the kind of goals we are told to set. But this is how my mind works!  So this is my page, my words, my ideas for making things better and reorganizing and resetting my priorities.

create more often
forgive easier, quicker and more often
get mad less often
learn something every day
be more disciplined
be more cheerful
work out *intentionally* every day
be more dedicated to my goals
do school work for at least two hours a day
declutter each room in the house
decorate each room in the house
spend an hour sewing or drawing or painting each day
read the entire bible this year
be more patient
yell less
clean more
laugh more than ever
spend more time in the sunshine – we live in California for a reason people!
learn to like myself more and quit expecting perfection from myself
take more picturescook more often
try new foods

I am sure there are more, but this list covers all the main bases at least once.

What about you? What are words you want to live by in 2011?

About messymama
I'm a SAHM with a busy schedule and a love of too many things to count! I sew, I write, I draw, and I love to create. I'm always on the lookout for a new project idea. One other very important thing about me - my house is in a continual state of upheaval and mess. Slowly but surely I'm working through the piles and boxes, but I am still in the process, and some days it seems like it would be much easier to pack up and move!
