Hi guys!

Well, it’s been…a long time…but I am still alive and still busy! We have had a rough few weeks around here but now, I can honestly say we are enjoying our married life more than we ever have in the last 10 years! I am so grateful that my husband has finally begun to work on his issues so we can work together on the rest of ours as well. Things are looking up!

There was a big (well, biggish, not horrible but still a fire that took out almost 900 acres) fire in the area and the hubby has been working on the clean up. He’s been putting in 14 and 15 hour days and coming home pitch black from head to toe, so tired he can barely stand up! It’s thrown our routines out the window but things will settle down soon, hopefully.

I was dreaded the beginning of the school year but it has been shockingly smooth thus far. It’s shaping up that we have two full school days a week where we work for about 7 hours, not including the breaks we take. The other days we do smaller projects that back up what we learned on the long days. These are also our testing days, when I try to figure out exactly what she learned and the best direction to move in next. It has been so exciting to watch her really bloom into a little reader and start asserting her personality. She is so fun to be around and I am so so grateful that I get to teach her! Also, this year we will be doing classes on site, two days a week. They don’t start until the 15th but I am so excited to see how she will like it. It will be really good for her to have other teachers and be in a class room environment. It will also give me a bit of a break and some mommy time, which I am looking forward to.

I have a bunch of projects finished, just have not had time to take photos yet (how do these amazing bloggers find time for everything?!) but am hoping to get it together within the next few days. I have a bunch of pages done in my Sketchbook/2011, just finished a patchwork messenger bag, and am beginning another one tomorrow. I hate to post without a picture but I was tired of looking at the same post up here! More info and lots of new pictures coming soon, I promise!!

About messymama
I'm a SAHM with a busy schedule and a love of too many things to count! I sew, I write, I draw, and I love to create. I'm always on the lookout for a new project idea. One other very important thing about me - my house is in a continual state of upheaval and mess. Slowly but surely I'm working through the piles and boxes, but I am still in the process, and some days it seems like it would be much easier to pack up and move!
