These pictures came from our local zoo, in Sacramento. It was early summer when we went and the flowers were amazing. Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop getting where I’m going in such a hurry, and to stop and enjoy the scenery along the way. These pictures remind me of that. My daughter had one of the best days of her life when we went on this trip; she was so enthralled, flitting from one amazing experience to the next, that it was hard not to lose myself in her childish fascination with her surroundings. Eventually I gave up the fight and was right beside her pointing out different things in the same wonder she was using. It was a treasured day, and that’s why these pictures are the first Wordless Wednesday – in honor of the most amazing day, the day I fell back in love with simple pink flowers with sweet scents and shimmering shadows lingering on painted posts.
This is me. This is me, holding my darling neice, my wonderful new love, the little person who makes us crack up like we’re being entertained by the world’s best comic without ever saying a word. G and I are equally fascinated by this baby so she won’t be jealous that Mommy put a picture of B up instead of one of G. She’ll probably stand next to my chair and tell me how much she loves that baby and how much B means to her, even if she is just her cousin and not her sister, lol. Life is good when there’s enough love to spread around and the smell of baby powder to remind you of what life’s really about!
